5 cardamom pods, slightly crushed in a pestle and mortar

Sugar and milk according to personal taste
Pour approximately 7 cups of water into a suitably sized saucepan.
Add the crushed cardamom and bring the mixture to the boil.
Once it has reached boiling point, add the teabags or leaves. Taste and add sugar to desired taste.
Add sufficient milk to turn the mixture a milky-tea colour.
Bring to the boil. Before it starts simmering, remove the saucepan from the heat.
